Rather than being the guy that never admits to his mistakes, let your boss know when you’ve messed up. While this might seem like a bad idea if you’re trying to get a promotion, it shows a level of maturity required to maintain an upper management position.Admitting to your mistakes and offering ideas on how to resolve these errors showcases your problem solving abilities.
3. Put In the Time
If you are the last to punch in in the morning and the first to punch out at night, your lack of effort will be noticed by your superiors.Put in a few extra hours each week – and be sure to send your boss e-mails during this time – to let your boss know you’re serious about the job.

One of the best ways to get a promotion without seeming like a suck up is to offer fresh, new ideas.This not only makes you seem like an invaluable part of the team but shows your ability to adapt and adopt change.
5. Ask For What You Want
At the end of the day, any amount of effort you put in to getting a promotion will be wasted if you don’t ask for one.Choose a time when you know your company is in good standing and ask for what you want.
